This Thermostatic Mixing Valve can also provide 43 gallons per minute cold water bypass in the case of hot water or thermostatic element failure.

Speakman thermostatic mixing valves for safety showers and eyewash units provide a safe & plentiful supply of tempered water when used in conjunction with a potable water source. The SE-350 is a dual element valve with a 67 gallon per minute flow capacity which can support up to three emergency showers and/or eyewash units. The SE-350 also provides 43 gallons per minute cold water bypass in case of hot water or thermostatic element failure. The SE-350 is approved to the ASSE 1071 standard.

Operating Principle
The SE-350 Mixing Valve is made of two independent thermostats housed in a single casting. The twin thermostatic cartridges respond independently to incoming hot and cold water temperatures and provide backup protection against element failure. If one element fails, the other should continue to function properly. If only one element is operating the valve will experience a decrease in outlet temperature (T3). For this reason the SE-350 Thermostatic Mixing Valve requires testing and maintenance on a regular basis. In the event of element failure, the cartridge will provide full cold water flow. The resulting temperature difference between the two valves will be reflected by T1 and T2.
