Outdoor Tempered Shower and Eye/Face Wash System
Model: 8710
PERFORMANCE SERIES: Model 8710 standard decontamination booth is a heated shower and eye/face wash booth that supplies tempered water for flushing during emergency situations in all-weather conditions. The Advanced Programmable Monitoring Control System allows for real-time control of the operating system. The 5' x 9' (1.52 x 2.74 m) bright yellow, chemically-resistant, water-proof coated booth has an R-value of 11, provides an operating temperature range of -30° to 100° F (-34° to 38° C), and is loaded with features including spring-loaded self-closing doors, an equipment room door, a removable service door, large directional arrows, large and small universal shower/eyewash instructional signs, and a fiberglass floor grate. The ultimate in safety is present with a 20 gpm (75.7 L) AXION® hydrodynamic shower head, and an eye/face wash that features the medically acclaimed AXION® MSR eye/face wash head assembly (patent pending). This revolutionary inverted flow design is the only product on the market that provides a Medically Superior Response consistent with all EMT, emergency room and doctors' office protocols by sweeping contaminants away from the vulnerable nasal cavity, along with 3 gpm (11.4 L) to supply the side hanging drench hose. Its flexibility to do more is apparent when it can be used as a complete stand-alone decontamination unit and used as a multiple shower feeder, because it can operate with a number of tempering and electrical options. Because the 8710 can be specified with a number of different hot water supply options, electrical options, blending options, and multi-unit supply capabilities, it is adaptable to almost any emergency shower requirement. Standard electrical system is equipped with 480V 3ph, and is easily adapted for other voltages upon request. Combination shower and eyewash is certified by CSA to meet the ANSI Z358.1 Standard for Emergency Eyewash and Shower Equipment.
QUALITY CONTROL Fully assembled and tested for quick placement and hook-up.
BLENDING SYSTEM Safe, fully engineered thermostatic mixing valve for mixing large volumes of hot and cold water guarded with anti-scald protection and full flow cold water bypass to provide tempered water in adverse situations.
TANK SYSTEM OPTIONS 119 Gallon (450 L) Tank (Option No. 21): Stores enough hot water to provide a single 15 minute shower and eye/face wash use. Also available in ASME - Option 22. 325 Gallon (1230 L) Tank (Option No. 23) stores enough hot water to provide two 15 minute shower and eye/face wash uses before tank recovery is required.
STEAM SYSTEMS Steam Heat Exchanger (Option No. 24): Feed forward instantaneous heat exchanger. Requires 15 PSIG, max. 1300 lb./hr. steam supply.
EYE/FACE WASH AXION® MSR eye/face wash head (patent pending) uses an inverted directional laminar flow to sweep contaminants away from the vulnerable nasal cavity.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OPTIONS Haws provides systems with various voltage options. Standard assemblies are built with 480V 3ph for quick shipment. NEMA 4 tank (Option 31), steam (Option 36). NEMA 7 Class I, DIV2, Group B, C, D tank (Option 32), steam (Option 38) (Class l, DIV l also available)
PERFORMANCE SERIES Offering a standardized line of water tempering solutions providing shorter lead times, advanced compliance, cost efficiencies, and customizable configuration options.
MONITORING Advanced Programmable Monitoring Control System provides real-time digital display with three modes; standard operating, alarm cycles and fault history. Capabilities include automatic alarm silencing reset, customer control room synchronization, seasonal operation scheduling, and more.
APPLICATIONS for this Haws 8710
Perfect for Petro-chemical, bio-diesel, and ethanol processing facilities, and other remote outdoor locations where drench showers with very cold water would pose a health hazard to employees and a liability to employers, or in shower areas exposed to cold air and wind where showering with very cold water could discourage proper flushing time. Model is certified by CSA to meet the ANSI Z358.1 Standard for Emergency Eyewash and Shower Equipment.
